Hello Elmer team
What is the mechanical constitutive theory used for the material in Elmer’s “nonlinear elasticity” module? Is it Hyperelasticity?
Sincerely yours,
Zhanna,

Nonlinear elasticity
Hello Elmer team
Would you please introduce me the text reference of Elmer’s “nonlinear elasticity” module? Since there is not Elmer documentation for this module it’s getting really hard for me to understand it.
Sincerely yours,
Zhanna

Text reference of the linear elasticity solver
Hello Elmer team I see some difference between the way Elmer calculates the stiffness matrix in linear elasticity and the way presented in most FEM text books. In other words most FEM books calculate the element stiffness matrix directly but Elmer first calculates the nodal matrix and then adds it t...

Combination of rectangular nad triangular elements
Hello Elmer team
I have a complicated fluid geometry. Does it reduce accuracy if I mesh some portions of the fluid by triangles and some portions but rectangles?

Hello Elmer team
Is there anyway to make 'White' default background color of ElmerPost?

Re: Changing stiffenss value for elasticty mesh motion
Then, how can I define the area change of each element in each time step in a user defined function?
Thanks, Zhanna

Changing stiffenss value for elasticty mesh motion
Hello Elmer team I’ve seen some papers that use linear elastic equation for mesh motion. Some of them define initially the same stiffness value (Young modulus) for all elements but as the time progresses the stiffness value is redefined for each element according to its deformation (area change in 2...
Zoom in
Hello Elmer team
I want to view a very narrow part of my model in ElmerPost but after a particular times of 'zooming in' the model disappears. Is there any way to fix this problem, i.e., to be able to zoom in a greater number of times?
Sincerely yours,
Zhanna

Re: Boundary conditions
I'm supposed to impose B.C's on e.g. line x=3.0 , while mesh is not fix in the space and is moving e.g. via MeshUpdate. So I can't impose B.C.'s on pre-specified nodes. I think a weak scheme of imposing B.C.'s should be used. Is it possible in Elmer?

Boundary conditions
Hello Elmer team Is it technically possible to apply boundary conditions on a fixed place of space (a line for 2D and a surface in 3D problems) in Elmer? I want this line or surface has a fixed coordinate in the space and the mesh passes through it. Is there any utility in Elmer that supports this k...
