The "Periodic BC Rotate" works perfectly. Amazing range of command options in Elmer.

There is also periodic BCs with an offset if that's what you are looking for. I had a few teething troubles using the SaveScalars approach & resorted to a thermal BC with offset. Managed to get it working by writing into the GUI-generated sif file. Boundary Condition 6 Target Boundaries(1) = 6 ...
