Re: PMSM Simulation from Pavel in ElmerFEM 9.0
I understand that the Mortar condition needs 2 boundaries. But in this example there is no boundary 3 defined in the sif file. Only 2 boundaries are defined. It seems that the model is made in such a way that boundary 2 is "master" and "slave" boundary in the same time. Thanks, M...

PMSM Simulation with Symmetry BC
Hello, after reading both tutorials from Pavel, for a PMSM and IM i tried to model a PMSM with the 6 pole 9 slots configuration and symmetry boundary conditions. The static case looks good and the results are compatible with Ansys Maxwell (see images below). For static case please run "case_sta...

Re: PMSM Simulation from Pavel in ElmerFEM 9.0
What is the meaning of "Mortar BC = 3"? In this example the mesh consists from only one sliding boundary with the number 2. Boundary Condition 2 Target Boundaries(1) = 2 Name = "Sliding" Discontinuous Boundary = Logical True Save Line = True Mortar BC = 3 Rotational Projector = L...

Re: PMSM Simulation from Pavel in ElmerFEM 9.0
Hi Peter, i just added "Rotational Projector = Logical True" in the sliding boundary definition and the obtained torque looks much smoother. Boundary Condition 2 Target Boundaries(1) = 2 Name = "Sliding" Discontinuous Boundary = Logical True Save Line = True Mortar BC = 3 Rotatio...

Re: PMSM Simulation from Pavel in ElmerFEM 9.0
Hi Peter,
thanks for the fast reply. How to do that?
Thanks,
Mladen

PMSM Simulation from Pavel in ElmerFEM 9.0
Hello, I am trying to learn how to use Elmer by running some of the simulations done by Pavel. I generated the same mesh and the .sif file. The simulation is running but I get strange results (see images). The flux lines in most of the time-steps seem to be ok, but in some time-steps i experience so...

Re: Induced voltage in PMSM without Paraview
I know the tutorial from Pavel. The question was how to do it directly in elmer without using Paraview to calculate the flux linkages?

Re: Induced voltage in PMSM without Paraview
I meant the calculation of the induced voltage which Pavel did using Paraview as stated in the previous post. I would like to do similar 2D no-load simulation of BLDC Machine in Ansys Maxwell and ElmerFEM and compare the results. I am interested in comparing the typical no-load motor parameters as v...
