Number of Navier-Stokes Iterations
I am running into an issue where the IterSolve indicates NUMERICAL WARNING:: IterSolve: Too many iterations was needed. at FlowSolve: NAVIER-STOKES ITERATION 33 Looking at the solver settings I am not sure what is limiting the NS Iterations to 33. I am running this simulation in Parallel using 4 pro...

ElmerGrid Mesh Partitioning
Hey all, I am trying to partition a mesh that I created in gmsh using the ElmerGrid functions but I have not had any success. I am able to convert the *.msh file to the Elmer Solver format using the following syntax: ElmerGrid 14 2 Test_Partition_Mesh.msh which results in the following output: Start...

Output ALL Variables to VTU
Hey all, I am still getting familiar with outputting information from Elmer; in my case I am using the Navier Stokes, Heat Transfer, and Result Output solvers. Currently, I am outputting Scalar (Temperature and Pressure) as well as Vector (Velocity) outputs. Is there a way to output ALL possible var...

Workstation Hardware Requirements
Hello all, What are the recommended system requirements for a workstation running Elmer (i.e. 4-Core with Hyperthreading, 4 memory channels, 2GB video card)? I plan on procuring a system but am in a bind between two processors (i7-4790K and i7-4820K). The i7-4790K only allows 2 memory channels (DDR3...

Re: Output Total Heat Flux of a boundary
Thanks for the advise... I was using Flux Compute to calculate the flux but didn't take the extra step and do a save line. I will try this out and see what comes of it!
Thanks Again!

Output Total Heat Flux of a boundary
Hello All, I have been getting acquainted with Elmer (after switching from COMSOL) and love how fast and efficient it runs. I have been running several simulations on an axisymmetric pipe with heat transfer. The problem converges and the solutions seem to be conducive to what I thought and have seen...
