Thanks Peter.
You are right, it is actually not a problem. I was just trying to avoid using 'cd' since I compiled Elmer with several other packages, and don't wonna mess up directories. But it looks like 'cd' is the only option for now.
Thanks for this clarification.

ElmerSolver_MPI / execute from different directory
Hello, I am looking for a way to execute parallel solver from different directory. Is this possible? Currently, manual only mentions command of "mpirun -np 4 ElmerSolver_mpi" to run, but this has to be run from the same folder. Is there anyway to run it from different folder? For example: ...

Re: Predefined temperature field in Stress Analysis
Hi Peter, Thanks for the clarification, and thanks for pointing out the different linear solver strategies. After switching the linear system solver from direct method to iterative method, I was able to calculate the temperature and stress at each step much faster. This should meet my current needs....

Predefined temperature field in Stress Analysis
Hi, does anyone know if Elmer support the predefined field? Specifically, can I use pre-calculated temperature field as the load to calculate the thermal stress? Below is a description of my problem : I am conducting a thermal-mechanical analysis to predict the distortion in laser additive manufactu...

Re: Thermal/mechanical Coupled analysis
Thanks very much, Matthias. Tutorial 9 looks great, I will try it and post update here later. Thanks, Jingfu Hi, I think this is possible, although I never did it myself. Have a look at tutorial 9 in the ElmerTutorials_nonGUI.pdf which you will find here: http://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elme...

Thermal/mechanical Coupled analysis
Can Elmer do thermal-mechanical coupled analysis? If so, which solver I need to use? For example, in laser welding, the laser heat will cause part distortion. This usually needs to perform a fully thermal-mechanical coupled analysis to solve the problem. I didn't see any example about this. I apprec...
