Hi Kevin,
Thank you very much for your reply.
I tried your suggestion but unfortunately it did not fix my issue. The result was the same as without the change.
I did however find that removing the "Galerkin Projector = Logical True" from the periodic BC gave me a good result.

Dirichlet and Periodic Boundary Conditions
Hi I am running an ElasticSolve analysis where I am applying a centrifugal load as a body force on a rotor. I have periodic boundary conditions at the two sides of a section of the rotor and a 0 displacement boundary condition at the inner of the rotor. It looks like I have a conflict between the Di...

Re: Non Linear Convergence Question
Hi Peter and Kevin, Thank you very much for your quick replies. Peter - I tried "Mortar BCs Additive = True" and it seemed to work in terms of the convergence for both linear and p:2 elements. I am finding however that the field result for the first timestep has regions which are not as sm...

Non Linear Convergence Question
Hi We have been observing some convergence behavior for some electric machine models which we do not understand and would like some help with. We have generally found that with coarse meshes our analyses converge fine but when we go to finer meshes the maximum number of iterations is reached. I have...

Code files for ElmerSolver.exe
Hi We are using ElmerSolver.exe and its dependencies from the windows build in https://www.nic.funet.fi/pub/sci/physics/elmer/bin/windows/ElmerFEM-nogui-nompi-Windows-AMD64-rel9.0.zip We believe that this is licensed under LGPL. We would like to know which code files in the GitHub repository are com...

Re: Anti Periodic Boundary Conditions with Quadratic Elements Problem
Hi Peter, Thanks for your reply. I have tried as you suggested and the analysis runs fine and looks reasonable. I am writing the field results to .vtu file and then post processing. I notice that when using p elements of degree 2 the results file is the same size as when using linear elements and is...

Re: Contact and Periodic BCs
Hi David, Thank you very much for your reply and sorry for not getting back sooner, for some reason I did not get a notification of it and only just spotted it while browsing the forum. I have been trying to avoid having to compile Elmer up to now but will get back to this topic sometime soon and wi...

Re: Contact and Periodic BCs
Hi Peter,
I am wondering if you had a chance to look at the files I sent yet and whether you had any feedback.
Thanks,
Paul

Re: Contact and Periodic BCs
Elmer Example.zip Hi Peter, I have tried a number of things but not quite got it to work yet. Here is a test example. As setup at the moment if I run it, it does not like that I am trying to use a radial projector for the symmetry condition Boundary Condition 2 Name = Side1 Target Boundaries(1) = 2...
