Re: "Explotion" inside a metal box
Hello Kevin! Indeed, I used the k-epsilon viscosity model when I simulated with the Boussinesq approach, and it certainly helped.

"Explotion" inside a metal box
Hi, Elmer community! I've been using Elmer for a year or less and it seems to be a quite competitive tool for FEM simulations. Until now I've just used ("correctly") the Heat and Stat Current Solvers for a metal bar which cools through natural convection (as a boundary condition) and is he...

Re: Error During EOF-Library Installation
Hi again! I resolved the problem. I don't know if it's version incompatibility or something like that but I added to the file PstreamGlobals.H in /usr/lib/openfoam/openfoam2212/src/Pstream/mpi inside namespace PstreamGlobals { ... } the line extern MPI_Comm MPI_COMM_FOAM; and it worked. But now I ha...

Re: Error During EOF-Library Installation
A few days ago, there was a pull request with fixes for OF v9 and v10. I merged them just now. I'm using openfoam2212, I don't know if it's the same version as the ones you mention, but just in case I've run sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get upgrade However, I resolved my problem with . /...

Error During EOF-Library Installation
Hi! I don't know if this is the correct place to ask about my problem, please feel free to redirect me to somewhere else if this is not the place. I am trying to install EOF-Library on WSL with Ubuntu-20.04.5 LTS following the "Manual Installation" instructions on https://github.com/jvence...

Re: Difference between values in PostProcces and SaveScalar file
Thank you all! I applied all your recommendations and played a bit with convergences tolerances and max. iterations and finally arrived at reasonable results.
Cheers,
Matias.

Difference between values in PostProcces and SaveScalar file
Hi everyone! I'm making good progress with Elmer (GUI and non-GUI) but I encountered something I don't quite understand. Currently, I'm using Python to run ElmerSolver with little variations of a case.sif. This case is simple, a box of 1x1x1 m3, Steady-State, with 4 sides walls with BC at 297 K (Hea...

Re: Comparison Between FEM Softwares
This paper has some direct comparison with Comsol https://www.researchgate.net/publication/335771019_Microwave_heating_of_water_in_a_rectangular_waveguide_Validating_EOF-Library_against_COMSOL_multiphysics_and_existing_numerical_studies Thank you, Peter! That paper is precisely what I was looking f...

Comparison Between FEM Softwares
Hi everyone! I'm using this software to simulate a thermoelectric transient system of a high-voltage isolator to make virtual testing of a temperature-rise test of this device. We would like to have our results with their uncertainties so we can compare them with experimental ones. I've read that th...
