Re: GlaDS channels with an extruded mesh
With some guessing on not specific information, the latest version of elmerice-branch should contain the needed functionality. So, please, test it and give feedback. The keyword you were asking from Rupert is Preserve Baseline = Logical True But to my knowledge really only puts the 1D (2D was wrong)...

Re: Output basal drag and effective pressure
Hi Matt, as I see it, there are three misunderstandings here: 1) SlidCoeff_Contact is a user function that would deliver you (based on grounding line dynamics) the corresponding sliding coefficient on the bedrock (you can switch the "Coulomb"-law in there). Hence, the BDrag value would be ...

Re: error DetectExtrudeStructure
Hi,
to test Peter's suspicion, whether the problem is from gmsh, you could easily create this simple geometry using native format of ElmerGrid. To find a blueprint, just check for any square.grd in the existing Elmer examples.
Regards,
Thomas

Hi,
given the fact that it works with coarser resolutions, I'd try to provide the
keyword also in the "StructuredToPlane" solver section.
Best Regards,
Thomas

Re: Elmer/Ice output formats and processing
Hi, just a few things: I understood that by having a VTU output, you are set what comes to Visit. I also successfully read NetCDF (CF) files into ParaView, should one like to compare such a file to Elmer output. Also, bear in mind that ResultOutputSolver provides already the following possibilities:...

Hint: LD_LIBRARY_PATH and ctest
This is a hint for all those having issues with ctest reporting troubles for resolving symbols in libelmersolver.so while ctest-ing a new compiled version. We came across the fact that if during test-time (at least on a Ubuntu/Linux Mint system) the libelmersolver.so of an existing installation exis...

Re: (p)arpack compilation error
Hi, I do not have a lot of answers. The HUTI_D_DG is a function defined in the linear algebra package HUTITER, which is under elmerfem/fhutiter/src/huti_sfe.F90. The MPI_ALLREDUCE error beats me - the only difference I can spot to other calls to the same function in other routines is, that the send ...

Re: Mumps on Taito
Hi Rupert,
This forum is not scanned for requests concerning CSC's computing platforms, instead I would ask you to send a request to CSC's servicedesk instead. Once you do, I will try to fix things. I guess you need the FISOC branch installed there.
Cheers,
Thomas

Re: Help to apply shear force at boundary
Hi Liz, somehow I missed your reply from March 4th, sorry. If you really have an apparatus where two parallel plates to which the ice is attached are pushed with a shear stress and not vertically displaced (I still wonder how you can achieve that without cracking the ice), I would deploy the FreeSur...

Re: Elmer compilation problem on Cray cluster
Hello, I do not know if this is of particular help in your case, but here is the compilation script for GNU environment on our Cray XC40 attached at the end of this message I think the essential two lines are CRAY_ADD_RPATH=yes export CRAYPE_LINK_TYPE=dynamic Naturally, you need to change a few path...
