It was written to work in 3D, not sure about 2D.
Do you have a 3D test?

Re: Core Loss Calculation
Add this solver after calc fields. It will compute time-dependent core loss. Add core loss properties in solver: Solver ... Equation = "MGDynamicsCalc" Procedure = "MagnetoDynamics" "MagnetoDynamicsCalcFields" Linear System Symmetric = True Potential Variable = String &...

Re: Core Loss Calculation
The GSE approach works for sinusoidal excitations. Plus it can account for non-linear magnetic properties.
Let me know if you want to try it out.

Re: Core Loss Calculation
Hi,
Assuming that this is transient simulation, do you think the Generalized Steinmetz Equation would work?

Re: Circuit + CoilSolver - Transformer Test
Hi, This is not a commercial post of mine, but I would like to suggest you to try TRAFOLO https://trafolo.eu/download-page/ It generates Elmer's sif files and runs it so you can get some ideas out of it. Free for non-commercial use. We would be very happy if you could do comparisons with other solut...

Error: Insufficient space in Bsend buffer
Hi, I get an error related to MPI on Windows 10. MPI version is one that comes with Elmer. The case has ~1M elements, memory >20GB. When running the case in serial without MPI, it works. Is this buffer size hardcoded (e.g., CheckBuffer @ SParIterComm.F90) or there is a way to increase it? SolveLinea...

Load (restart) elemental fields
Hi! I am trying to export Joule Heating e (elemental field) from one simulation and import it into another simulation. The export/import happens on the same mesh, but different sif files. Export Simulation has Output File = data.restart Output Global Variables = Logical True Import Simulation has Re...

Clean / restart WhitneyAVHarmonicSolver solution between scans
Hello, Is there a way to nullify/clear an old WhitneyAVHarmonicSolver solution (Bicgstabl) during the Scan simulation type? I am using the B-H curve model and running a Scan with different frequencies. It seems that every next scan, the solver uses the solution from the previous scan. This seems to ...

Re: Multiple foil windings
Hello Eelis,
You are right about removing "body" namespaces. Once removed, it works. Thank you!
"circuits_harmonic_foil_anl_rotm" case produces non-circular currents.

Multiple foil windings
Hello, This is three coil case with foil windings. Two sif files: 1) Alpha and Beta boundary conditions are grouped - this case works. 2) Alpha and Beta boundary conditions are separate - this case does not converge. Do you have ideas why this might happen? This works (converges): ... Boundary Condi...
