Re: problem with mortar periodic BC
Hi all, ok, I think I spotted my first error. Also, I have prepared a simpler model and added more details on what I want to do, I hope this will give more chances to get to the bottom of the problem. By the way, I have available data from a real motor design. I think this is a great opportunity to ...

problem with mortar periodic BC
Hi all, I'm trying to solve for the magnetic field in a 3D electric motor using mortar BCs but I can't make the solver converge. Please find below the details of the model. This is an overview of the mesh, you can see the motor model with the energised coil (it is immersed in air) and the simmetry p...

Re: resistance and power dissipation from StatCurrentSolver
I suspected that .
I believe this explains all the possible options available for working with these variables.
Cheers,
Marco

Re: resistance and power dissipation from StatCurrentSolver
Hi Matthias, thanks a lot, the solver works ^^ Solver 3 !Exec Solver = After Timestep Equation = SaveScalars Procedure = "SaveData" "SaveScalars" Filename = "coil characteristics.dat" End If anybody is intereseted, the solver produces two files: 1. coil characteristics....

resistance and power dissipation from StatCurrentSolver
Hi all, Recently I've been working with the StatCurrentSolver and I've found that when you use "Current Control" (current fixed at Ic) the solver outputs the dissipated power as a function of the potential inposed on BC insead of power dissipated by Ic. In my simulation (see results below)...

Re: RotatingBCMagnetoDynamicsGeneric test failed
Hi all, Just a quick update on the skew feature, it took me some time staring at the MATC equation but eventually the penny dropped (tx(0) and tx(1) are always devious to interprete XD). By the way, it works in degrees. It's a very nice feature! Still working on the boundaries identification questio...

Re: RotatingBCMagnetoDynamicsGeneric test failed
Hi Peter, thanks for clarifying. I have modified the last line of the .sif file ("Solver 2 :: Reference Norm = 4.12268808E-03") and I got a PASS :D. I have some further questions, once you have extruded the 2D mesh (quarter_mesh.msh), and you are ready to prepare boundary conditions in the...

RotatingBCMagnetoDynamicsGeneric test failed
Hi all, after having downloaded from GitHub, I've tried to run the test RotatingBCMagnetoDynamicsGeneric found in https://github.com/ElmerCSC/elmerfem/tree/devel/fem/tests/RotatingBCMagnetoDynamicsGeneric and had a fail. I'm using Elmer on VM on a Mac. I've run all the commands required to build the...

Re: Fluid structure interaction and velocity BC
I see, allright, I'll stick with Elmer on VM for now and wait for news
Thanks again!

Re: Fluid structure interaction and velocity BC
Fantastic! I have tried it on the ubuntu VM and It works
I'm sooooooooooooo happy ^^
Thanks a lot Peter!!
PS: is there any chance that we are going to see this update in the self extracting binary?
