GL dynamics and Stokes in Elmer v8.3

Dear ElmerIce users,

Following important changes on how Dirichlet Conditions are handle in Elmer v8.3, we found that the conditional dirichlet condition for the normal velocity in the grounded part of the ice sheet was not properly released during grounding line retreat.

This has now be fixed in the latest commits under the dev and elmerice branches.

This was affecting transient simulations with grounding line dynamics with Stokes (and eventually ParStokes; is anyone using ParStokes to model grounding line dynamics?).

If you are running such simulations please update your code to the latest revision.

Do Clemens Shanwell and Reinhard Drews use parstokes for grounding line movement?

I know a bit late. But rather late than never.

No not at the moment. We have a setup for it that works and gives the same results as NS, but are waiting to get more cores to run it on :) Will certainly update our versions to latest Elmer version.
