mechanical force of motor

Post by miwa3 »

I try to show the mechanical force of a motor with elmer. I only need the centrifugal force, which is created because of the rotation. How can the centrifugal force be determined wirth elmer?

Something restrains (elements or boundary condition) the centrifugal force from causing movement relative to the axis of the motor. The force in the restraint is the centrifugal force. You can use the the SaveScalers solver in chapetr 49 of the models manual to output data, including summing the force on a boundary.

At the moment I use the Solver StressSolver from chapter 6 to get the mechanical force. I compute the force like this:

Body Force 1
Name = "BodyForce 1"
Stress Bodyforce 1 = Variable Coordinate 1
Real MATC "(w_m*2*3.14/60)^2*tx"
Stress Bodyforce 2 = Variable Coordinate 2
Real MATC "(w_m*2*3.14/60)^2*tx"
End

I don´t know, if the calculation of the centrifugal force is right or not.
