Reading ElmerSolver Results

Post by dancingpulsar »

Hi All,
I am new to Elmer. I try to run first Elmer non-GUI tutorials - Radiation heat transfer. First I did generate mesh with command - "ElmerGrid 1 2 radiation
", and then ran ElmerSolver with "ElmerSolver radiation.sif". I used the example fileitself. The ElmerSolver ran, and got results radiation.ep radiation.result. How do I read the result files? I tried to load in Paraview, it didn't work.

Please let me know how I can read the results in paraview. Also, there was no guide in "Elmer non-GUI Tutorials" as to how to interpret and read results file. Any pointers will be helpful.

Thank you so much

Hi,

the extension .ep is for ElmerPost, the old Elmer postprocessor which is not supported any more.
If you want to use ParaView (which is recommended), just change the post file extension in the Simulation section to .vtu.
