Fun with Elmer: Proper sausage heating :-)

Post by petroo »

How long does it take to heat up a sausage in a soup?

If you have Elmer, you may impress your wife by exactly determining the temperature inside the sausage for any given heating-up schema. Never bite on cold-core sausages in a hot soup any more! Just change the geometric parameters of the sausage and/or the heating schema in the accompanying project setting.

Alternatively, enjoy the .ep file results prepared for a sausage of 2 cm diameter with a heating from 20 to 100 °C in 10 min and a subsequent cooking at 100 °C:
State of the internal temperature distribution at the end of the heat-up period (after 600 sec).

:D

Excellent!

How did you determine the heat properties of the sausage?

Next step is to calculate how long beer needs to be in fridge to be cold :D

Cheers,

Eelis
