Solve thermal strain equation for a given (fix) temperature distribution.

Post by AnCa »

Hello,

I am new with Elmer and I read through the forum looking for a problem similar to mine. Unfortunately I have not found any solution so far.
I want to calculate the thermal deformation of a solid for which I already now how the temperature field looks like.
I need to give as an input the whole 3d thermal field so that Elmer can calculate the corresponding deformation.
Is it possible? If yes what would be the procedure to initialize the simulation?

Thanks a lot for your support

Regards

You can set the initial temperature of all the bodies then specify the temperature at every coordinate by targeting coordinates or at every node by targeting nodes.

use the heatsolver for temperature and the elastic solver for strains
