Free Vibration Analysis

Post by Sayan »

Hiii,
Is it possible to perform free-vibration analysis in Elmer? I was working with a model where I tried to impose the initial condition and vibrate the beam...But I have faced the following problem.
i) I didn't have enough freedom to choose the point where I want to assign the initial condition. For that what I have to do?
ii) Is it right that if I give the initial condition, the response will be similar to free-vibration even if I use Elastic solver?

something like this

i) you can control the boundary definitions when you create the mesh, or you can target nodes
ii) yes
