Hello,
I opened the ElmerGUI Installation Tester and it says that Elmer is not installed correctly:
Elmer seems to be installed incorrectly on this system
1) Make sure that ELMER_HOME has been set up properly
2) Set ELMERGUI_HOME to ELMER_HOME/bin
3) Set ELMER_POST_HOME to ELMER_HOME/share/elmerpost
4) Make sure that ELMER_HOME/bin is in PATH
5) Make sure that ELMER_HOME/lib is in PATH
6) Executables should be found from ELMER_HOME/bin
Any idea?
Thanks in advance.

Re: Elmer seems to be installed incorrectly on this system
I'm having the exact same problem but I'm using Kubuntu-17.04 and the setup is completely different than windoze. Would someone please outline the procedure for Linux the way it was done for Windoze.
Please help.

Re: Elmer seems to be installed incorrectly on this system
Hi,
this message is maybe not that relevant.
Does everything work as it should, i.e. can you start ElmerSolver and ElmerPost from the GUI?
Remark: For postprocessing, ParaView is recommended instead of ElmerPost. It can also be called from the GUI. For that you may have to set the variable PARAVIEW_HOME IIRC.
If you don't get errors in actual work with ElmerGUI, you can ignore those warnings.
HTH,
Matthias

Hi,
Matthias
Thank you for your answer
I can start the Elmersolver, but I can't start the elmerpost from the GUI.
But my paraview doesn't work, so should I set the variable PARAVIEW_HOME IIRC? And set what into ?

Hi,
do you have ParaView (which is a separate software) installed, and can you start it standalone?
To start it from ElmerGUI, you have to set the variable PARAVIEW_HOME to your ParaView installation directory.
IIRC is shorthand for "If I Remember Correctly".

Re: Elmer seems to be installed incorrectly on this system
Hello,
I have already downloaded ParaView, but I can't open it standalone.
And when I open the Emlerpost in the ElmerGUI, it always tells 'elmer post input file does not exist'. (Before that I saved the project and Emlersovler worked well)
Thank u

Hi,
you need to install ParaView in order to use it.
If you have problems with ParaView, you may find help at the ParaView website and mailing list.
For ElmerPost compaining about missing file: Do you have a file name with extension .ep in "Post File" in the simulation section (Model->Setup in the GUI)?
