Problem with K-E solver

Post by sdissem »

Hi everyone,

I'm actually a student in an internship and I'm using Elmer since two months and I am very impressed about its capabilities. Lately, I started to use the parallel solver and it works perfectly for solvers like Navier-Stokes or Temperature, however calculation stops when the KEpsilon solver starts and I don't have this problem when I don't use the parallel processing. Here is the error message:
WARNING:: GetParentMatProp: Property Density not in either parents!
WARNING:: GetParentMatProp: Property Viscosity not in either parents!
STOP dfx=0
Can you help me to find a solution?
Thanks a lot,
Best regards,

Slim

Hi,

sounds like a bug in the K-Epsilon model solver. I'll have a look tomorrow. Thanks for the report!

Hi,

I had a look at the code, but don't quite get what the trouble might be.
Maybe you could share your case?

Hi,

Here is my sif file and it works when I don't use the parallel solver. However when I click on "use parallel solver", the calculation crashes when it starts the KEpsilon Iteration and was working for the Navier-Stokes and Temperature Iteration. Thanks a lot for paying me attention,

Hi,

tried a similiar case, with no such troubles. Please, could you also attach
your mesh.* files, or better yet the partitioning.nn/ directory ('nn' being
the #of processors you've used).

Hi,

My part.nn.elements and my part.nn.nodes are too voluminous. I can't attach them.

hi,

try zipping/gzipping the elements & nodes? If still too much,
please email me directly (jpr@csc.fi).

Hi,

I sent you a mail with the remaining mesh files, I'm sorry that I didn't put them in one folder because loading takes a lot of time in my computer.

Thanks,

Slim
