The current official distribution packages for Debian and Ubuntu are stuck at svn revision 5396 from last November. For those wanting the latest development version without having to build everything on their own, I have thrown a svn snapshot (using the latest Debian packaging) into my Ubuntu PPA:
https://launchpad.net/~tormodvolden/+archive/ppa
There are binaries for i386 and amd64.
Update: Now at 5815.

Re: Updated binaries for Ubuntu 12.04
Got this error when I tried ElmerSolver:
ElmerSolver: error while loading shared libraries: libelmersolver-7.0.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

It seems like you haven't installed the libelmersolver-6.1 package. Normally the package dependencies should make sure you install it.
