Hi to all,
I am trying to solve the buckling of a beam, id est, to get the values of the force that would make the system unstable. I meshed the beam with Gmsh with second order elements. The issue is I can't make it work. The model never conveges. I don't know what I am doing badly. I paste here my sif file. Could someone please check it and point me out which is my mistake? Thanks a lot!

Re: buckling of a beam
I think I managed to solve it by changing the solving method, using a direct method instead of an iterative one. My problem now is that I don't know how to read the results. The solver gives me a vector and a scalar. I think one of these should be the factor I have to multiply the applied load by to get the critical load. But there's no way to combine the results with the applied load and still get to the analytical result.
