Running an undamped versus damped case. The undamped ELmer solution compares very well to Abaqus.

abaqus in blue elmer in orange

The damped case the abaqus solution ehibits damping, but Elmer did not. Is there something missing in the sif?

Meant to post mesh as well. .1 x .1 x 1 meter beam fixed at both ends. Apply 200 MPa for 0.1 seconds then let beam vibrate freely.

The time step data used 500 intervals, the sif file posted only has 2.

Hi,

Unfortunately there were some bugs in the code which should now be fixed. Could you update to the newest (devel) version and try again? Thanks for reporting about this trouble,

Mika
