I am trying to follow example 3 of
this tutorial . I have a portable version of Elmer installed according to
this tutorial . What I did:
I downloaded the elasticplate.xml file from here .
Created an edf folder inside the bin folder and placed the above file there
but I still don't see the Elastic Plate tab in the Equation pannel
I also tried "File > Definitions > Append" selecting the elasticplate.xml file manually to no avail.

It is the "edf-extra" that comes with the distro. If you place them to the "edf" file of the distro you see them automatically.
Btw, I think I've added that XML file to the distro already.

thank you Peter. Found it in "ElmerFEM-gui-nompi-Windows-AMD64\share\ElmerGUI\edf-extra" and then appending works.

Yes, if you operate some model more frequently then it makes sense to copy it from "edf-extra" to "edf" and you don't have to append it while running. Then project also can always be loaded when you have same menus active.
