Beginners Question on FEMM - implementing 3 phases of currents onto FEMM

Post by Patrick »

Hi all,

I've started using the program FEMM to design a set of bipolar 3-phase set of coils however can not figure out how to create different phases of currents to model this. I've followed one of the tutorials and checked the manual where it mentions a j edit box which would denote the imaginary component however cannot find this box when using FEMM.

Am I missing this j edit box on the program or has it been moved elsewhere on the program? Is there a different way of creating different phases of currents?

Thank you very much for the help in advance.

Hi Patrick,

This forum is for Elmer, not FEMM. I guess both can be used for problems in electromagnetics. FEMM is much more application area oriented but limited to 2D to my understanding.
