MULTIPLE BODIES

Post by juanma »

Hello,

I am trying to build a 3D simulation using an air volume and a beam to know the stress produced by air on the beam.
My question is how can I import igs files or make a mesh on ELMER, GID or GMSH to get 2 bodies. I am always getting only 1 body despite of the fact that I am meshing two different solids.
How could I get this?

Thank you,

Maybe the answer is a bit late, but I give it a try. :-)

Are you sure that you only obtain 1 body when importing the mesh into ElmerGUI? I expect the air volume to include the beam completely, and maybe you did not try to hide the all-including outer surface of the air volume in ElmerGUI (viewing the imported object in the GUI and then pressing Ctrl-H) to get to the beam surface on the inside?

Kind regards,

Peter
