To unit the edges in gmsh use the coherence command.

Thanks for all your help. I still have difficulty with gmsh. I want to have a cylinder (30.5 in y direction, radius 7.62). The cylinder is non-hollow and I want to mesh it somehow that it has nodes less than 80. I previously did that in the wrong direction. Now I cannot generate the right geometry. Can you help me? Thanks so much!

This is the geometry I generated before. I meant to assign 30.5 to y direction not x. Somehow I cannot regenerate this.
