Howdy;
I'm very new to Elmer. I'm having trouble importing files to the Elmer GUI for analysis.
Namely: I can't import assemblies. If I create a part in my 3D CAD program, save it as a .step, and open it in ElmerGUI, everything seems to work perfectly. However, if I follow the same procedure with an assembly instead of a part, the assembly will open in the geometry viewer, but the meshing generator will finish unrealistically fast and there will be nothing in the ElmerGUI window.
I'm wondering: has anyone encountered this error before, or have any guesses as to what I may be doing wrong? Or, alternatively, is it possible to access some sort of error console so I can get more clues as to where this error is coming from?
Any help would be much appreciated!
Thanks,
Josh
GUI meshing error
Re: GUI meshing error
Hi Josh,
I'm having a similar problem, but with the .stl files. In my case assemblies causes the gui to crash, and the log has a bunch of error messages about "Trig1 has 5 neighbours!!!!" and "Face1 has no edge!" Individual parts work fine. (the ! are part of the message)
Anyone got any ideas? Thanks,
Andrew
