problem with displacement BCs

Post by GastónGarcía »

Hi to all.
I am modelling a mechanical piece and have a problem with imposing boundary conditions. I need a face to move along one direction only and when I create a BC like "Displacement 3 = 0" I find, when viewing the postprocessor, that elmer has set all the three displacements equal zero, i.e.: Displacement 1 = Displacement 2 = Displacement 3 = 0. How can I fix it?

Thanks

Hej Franco,

It is difficult to say without more information. Could you post your working files?

If you just want to allow the boundary to move only in one direction; shouldn't you restricit the other two?

Hi Franco,
It would be easier to state on your question if you paste the content of your SIF in the forum or at least a part of it.
