Hi,
Another new user of Elmer I'm afraid!
I have installed the windows version running XP.
Microsoft Visual C++ is also installed.
When I go to the Visual Studio Command prompt and enter ....
ElmerGrid 1 2 Step_ke.grd
the reply is ElmerGrid is not recognised as an internal or external command.
Any help greatly appreciated.

Re: Running Test examples
You should rather give the command in the Windows command prompt, sometimes referred to as DOS prompt. You can also open .grd files directly in ElmerGUI within any need for command line interfaces.

Thanks Peter,
Got the dos command prompt enteries to work fine after I entered the Elmer bin directory path under windows environment system variables "PATH"
As you say it's alot easier to use the ElmerGUI.
The only problem was the windows installation set the directory first opened when looking for files to C:\ where there is usually a large swapfile which made the directory browser hang. Instead of C:\ I directed to my working directory by altering the egini.xml file under "Default directory for open/save dialogs (win32):"
