Re: Limitation of view factor
Hi Juha, "set the "Linear System Preconditioning" for the heat equation to "None" instead of "ILU0" was the solution. This was not possible in the user interface, so I did it in the sif file. I did it as well on the convection and on the conduction solver. Thanks a...

Limitation of view factor
Limitation of view factor Hello all I’m made a simulation of a massive block containing 4 cavities. In these cavities there is conduction, radiation and convection. The cavities are 1 meter high, and 0.015 m width. What works - Simulating conduction and convection using a fine mesh (gmsh 0.0015) - S...

Re: Unrealistic results using radiation heat transfer in cavity
Hello Juha
you solved it, changing the emissivity to the other material did it, thanks !

Re: Unrealistic results using radiation heat transfer in cavity
Dear All
after a night of sleep an extra remark:
Could it be that the cavity is radiating away from the cavity instead of into the cavity?
If this is true, how could i change this?

Unrealistic results using radiation heat transfer in cavity
Hello all I created a simple model of a PVC block with a cavity filled with air inside it. Simulating goes fine as long as I use only conduction and convection. When I added radiation, results when wrong. What is wrong? First The heat transfer through the warm wall is different from the heat transfe...

Hello
Maybe moving
Velocity 1 = 0
Velocity 2 = 1e-9
from the Boundary Condition to the Initial condition?

Re: sif files of tutorial online?
Why doesn't this one work?
It 's the "transient flow and heat equations- Rayleigh-Bernard instability?
There seems to be only one step in the post processor instead of the 100 ?

sif files of tutorial online?
Dear All
would it be possible to create a repository where I can find all the .sif files of the tutorial ?
It would be nice to be able to compare them with my .sif files, in order to find out who's the bad guy ( me or Elmer ))
Best Regards
